Doctors: 

Dr. Pool 

A graduate from Louisiana State University in 1978, Dr. Pool earned her Ph.D in Microbiology in 1989. She took over ownership of Deepwood when her father-in-law retired in 1996 ensuring to keep Deepwood in the family. 
Dr Pool's primary veterinary interests are unusual medical diagnostic cases, performing surgery and the overall health of all animals she treats.

Dr. Ryle

After earning her degree from Virginia Tech, Dr Ryle enjoys treating small animals and exotics. She enjoys performing surgeries of any nature. Her husband, son Spencer and daughter Emma keep her busy while at home.


Dr. Myers

Dr. Myers graduated from the University of Louisiana in 1978 with Dr. Pool. He treats all species of animals from small and farm animals to zoo animals. He is experience in internal and herd health medicine as well as surgery and radiology. Dr. Myers' primary interest is in equine lameness and leads lectures on the topic.

Management:

Kelli
(Human Resources/Office Manager)

Kelli started at Deepwood in 2004 as a receptionist and worked her way up to management after receiving her degree. She enjoys planning various fundraising events throughout the year to benefit Deepwood's Animal Rescue Fund. Kelli enjoys spending time with her husband, cat Charlie and Pit Bull Gracie.

Megan
(Business Manager)

Megan joined the Deepwood team in 2006. She enjoys technician duties when her manager schedule allows. Megan has a Border Collie Mix Wylie, a Sheltie Holly and three cats.


Tracy
(Front End Manager)

Tracy has been working at Deepwood since June 2007. She left the hotel industry to work in the field she has always loved. She  has three rescue animals, all of which are from Deepwood. She has an orange long hair tabby named Kuzco, a grey tabby named Ash and a black persian named Prince. Tracy's primary focus at Deepwood is the structure and training at the front desk and front end operations.


Lynn
(Bookkeeper)

Lynn joined Deepwood after moving from South Carolina to Virginia. She handles all of the finances for the clinic and is in charge of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter account for injured animals. Lynn has one cat named Socks. 


Technicans/Assistants:

Ellen

Ellen has worked in various areas of Deepwood until she became a licensed technician in 1972. She currently assists all surgeries and prepares the animals for surgeries. She has a Jack Russell Terrier Bentley, two cats and horses at home that she loves to spend her time with.

                               Donna

Donna started as receptionist in 2001 after leaving the management world of restaurants for a new career. She became a licensed technician in May 2005 after completing the first online only veterinary technician program. Donna does the ordering of all of the medical supplies for Deepwood. She has adopted many animals from Deepwood throughout the years and currently has a Pit Bull named Romeo and a Hound/Doberman Mix named Remi.

                                 Pam

Pam has worked at Deepwood since April 2003. She followed in the footsteps of others by starting as a receptionist and working her way up to becoming a technician. Two Chows named Suchi and Buxton and three cats Mister, Hatteras and Frisco are all part of Pam's family.  She is in charge of client correspondance for the clinic and enjoys learning new things each day.  

                              Alison 

Alison graduated from Gettysburg College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in May 2005. She joined the Deepwood team the following month and has been a dedicated team member ever since. Alison works as both a Large and SmallAnimal technician and enjoys assisting the veterinarians in their appointments. In her spare time, she teaches riding lessons and volunteers with a therapeutic riding program. Alison has a dog Max and a horse Sassy.

                                Kaiti 

 Kaiti has been with Deepwood since 2002 and has worked in all of the departments. Currently, she works with the technicians, veterinarians, in the pharmacy and is in charge of client correspondance in relation to losing a loved pet. Kaiti is a licensed equine massage therapist and enjoys showing her horse, Nada Poco, in her spare time. 


                           Samantha

Samantha grew up always planning to work with animals, and after graduating high school in June of 2006,  began working at Deepwood. Samantha then enrolled at NOVA and became part of the Veterinary Technician Program in 2007.  She will graduate in 2009. Samantha enjoys working in regards to the direct care of animals either on the road with the large animal crew as a road technician or in the clinic as a veterinary, technician assistant or pharmacy technician. Samantha enjoys traveling to Rodeo’s all across the United States for barrel racing.  She has competed  in Augusta, Georgia at the National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA) Open  World Championships and the NBHA Youth World Championships in Jackson, Mississippi since 2000.  Samantha is also the 2007 Maryland/Delaware State Champion.

Receptionists:

Rosanna 

 Rosanna began working at Deepwood in September of 2006. In addition to working as a receptionist, she assists the veterinarians and technicians. Rosanna has two dogs.


Tiffany

Tiffany is an avid horseback rider and she looks forward to coming to work to build relationships with the clients and their pets.



Ami

Ami is currently a student at George Mason University studying Biology with another receptionist Diane. She will either stay in the veterinary field or transfer to the human medical field! Ami has a dog Moonshine J Pumpkin who keeps her very busy with his constant energy! 

Diane
  

Diane has been at Deepwood since December of 2006 and enjoys interacting with the clients and the pets. She is currently enrolled at George Mason University
and will be graduating in 2010 with a Biology degree. Diane hopes to move towards  Zoology to work with more exotic animals like white tigers! She has a chocolate lab named Hershey and a cat named Kitty.

Tashelle

Tashelle has joined Deepwood after relocating from Canada! She is a full time receptionist who will always give you a smile during your visit! Tashelle has two "girls" who go everywhere with her and whom she adores. She is very motivated, and always wanting to learn more about the animal world to benefit herself and the clients.

Julie

 Julie works in the boarding facility and travels to work at Deepwood from Martinsburg, West Virginia! She loves working with the animals and always goes the extra mile to care for them. Julie currently has three cats and a Rottweiler named Lexylou.

Grooming


Sarah

Sarah is the groomer at Deepwood and strives to make each pet look the best they can be! After becoming licensed and working in a large company for two years, Sarah decided to join Deepwood to run her own grooming department. 

Todd

After working in various fields of employment, Todd has come to work and stay in the veterinary field. Working his way up from a kennel attendant to kennel manager and now working with Deepwood's groomer, Todd has a passion for animal care. He will ensure your pet receives the best care and best groom!
